Thursday, October 8, 2009 ( ROANOKE ) On a warm sunny day more reminiscent of Spring than Autumn Governor Kaine , who is also The National Democratic Party Chairman , paid a visit to The Star City to have lunch on The Market and engage the citizens in regard to the new smoking restrictions to be placed on Virginians December 1st. The measure is unpopular among many Democrats , as well as Libertarians, and even some Republicans , but Governor Kaine sees it as a part of the overall effort to improve Virginia's environment and the health of her citizens. Whether one agrees with him or not , it is easy to see why Tim Kaine has been a popular governor in Virginia. As a politician , Kaine greets everyone , from CEOs & prominent citizens , to the homeless man on the street , with a firm handshake and a sincere smile. Although it was rather warm outside, Kaine looked cool in his suit without even breaking a sweat. Of course Kaine hasn't forgotten about his pal Creigh Deeds who is currently campaigning to succeed him as Governor of Virginia. The Governor , along with U.S. Senator Mark Warner, also had a lot to do with Virginia voting "Democratic" in last year's Presidential Election. One thing is for sure -- anyone who meets Tim Kaine in person is bound to be impressed. GOVERNOR TIM KAINE VISITS
