DEEDS EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY BUS STOPS IN ROANOKE

The Virginia Education Association is supporting the candidacy of Creigh Deeds for Governor of Virginia.
VEA President Kitty Boitnott is conducting a bus tour in support of The Deeds Campaign and the tour visited Roanoke.
Among the dignitaries on hand on a gorgeous Autumn day outside The Jefferson Center were Senator John Edwards, and Gwen Mason,
the Roanoke City councilwoman who is running to be Virginia's House Delegate from the 17th District.

The climax of the event was an inspiring speech by Virginia Democratic Party Chairman C. Richard Cranwell
who told the crowd why it is important to vote for Creigh Deeds in the upcoming election.
Among the reasons cited by Cranwell are  the budget and Virginia economy, which he said need to stay on the course established by Warner & Kaine
at this crucial time, and things can not be allowed to lapse back into the state of neglect in which they were during the misguided stewardship of Virginia Republicans led by Gilmore.

And while Cranwell explained why Deeds is the best choice for governor because of his vision for improving education within the State,
he also gave other compelling reasons why Virginia voters need to choose Deeds over McDonnell in the 2009 Election.
Cranwell says McDonnell's archaic social philosophies are wrong for Virginia, and his candidacy is all about selling off the Virginia coast to Oil corporations,
and any possible "drilling" off the coast of Virginia will not effect the oil market, but it would ruin Virginia tourism.

Cranwell reminded the crowd active engagement in the Democratic process empowers Virginians and gives them a voice
to ensure politicians make informed decisions in the best interest of all Virginia.
